Lag BaOmer is the the 33rd day of the Omer count. This year it falls on May 23, 2019. This a very festive day on the Jewish calendar. Most people celebrate it with bonfires, parades and outings, where children play with bows and arrows and attend other joyous events. Many visit the resting place of the great sage and mystic Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai in Meron, northern Israel (Omer calendar)
